School Resource Officers

A School Resource Officer is defined as the following:

A certified law enforcement officer who is permanently assigned to provide coverage to a school or a set of schools. The SRO is specifically trained to perform three roles: law enforcement officer, law-related counselor and law-related education teacher.

The Asheboro Police Department currently employs four SROs. Two are located at the high school and one each are located in the middle schools.  The resource officers also serve our elementary schools.  They can be reached by telephone by calling the main offices of each school, or through the police department at (336) 626-1300.

Asheboro City Schools is fortunate to have four professional officers in the SRO program.
